No account, no personal data
You do not create an account to play. The site and the game never ask for your name, email address or payment details, and there is nothing to sell on to anybody else.
What is stored on your device
Your progress through a story — which chapters you have opened and which evidence you have found — is kept in your own browser's local storage. It never leaves your device and is not readable by us. Clearing your browser data deletes it permanently.
What is measured
Visits are counted with a self-hosted Umami instance. It sets no cookies, does not fingerprint you and does not follow you across other sites. It records the page visited, the referring site, the country, and the browser and device type, all in aggregate. We use it to see which chapters people stop at.
Patreon
If you unlock a paid story by connecting a Patreon account, the connection is handled by Patreon. The game receives only a signed token saying which tier you are on and when the paid period ends. It never sees your Patreon password, your email address or your payment details.
Your rights
Because nothing identifying you is collected, there is no account to access, correct or delete. For anything else, write to the studio through Patreon.
